Moto3, Sportrik Media - Maximo Quiles of CFMOTO Aspar Team delivered a standout performance during Free Practice 2 of the 2026 Spanish Moto3 Grand Prix at Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto, held in wet conditions.
The Spanish rider secured the top position in the closing stages of the session, demonstrating strong adaptability to low-grip conditions and consistent pace management. His ability to extract performance on a damp surface proved decisive in a session shaped by variable track grip.
Several contenders from leading teams such as Red Bull KTM Ajo and LEVEL UP – MTA also showed competitive pace, underlining the tight margins that typically define the Moto3 category, particularly under challenging weather conditions.

The technical layout of Jerez, combined with a wet surface, placed emphasis on throttle control, braking stability, and precision through corner sequences. These conditions rewarded riders capable of maintaining smooth inputs and minimizing risk while still pushing for lap time.
Meanwhile, Indonesian rider Veda Pratama of Honda Team Asia showed encouraging progress, remaining within a competitive range despite finishing outside the top ten. His performance indicated ongoing adaptation to the demanding track conditions.
Given the wet conditions, the FP2 results are not considered fully representative of overall race pace, with further improvements expected as track conditions evolve. Teams will now focus on refining setup configurations and analysing data to prepare for qualifying.
With weather remaining a key variable, strategic flexibility and rapid adaptation will be crucial as the Moto3 field heads into the next phase of the Spanish Grand Prix weekend at Jerez.
