The Marina Bay Street Circuit finally yielded to Max Verstappen as the four-time world champion delivered a masterclass performance to secure his maiden victory at the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2026. Starting cleanly from pole position under the dramatic lights, the Dutch ace controlled the 62-lap race from lights to flag without putting a single wheel wrong.
Verstappen showcased supreme pace aboard his RB22 machine, immediately neutralizing any threats from behind while expertly managing his tyre degradation on the unforgiving street layout. Although Charles Leclerc kept his Ferrari glued to the gearbox of the leading Red Bull during the opening stints, the Monegasque driver ultimately had to settle for second place as the gap stretched lap by lap.
Further down the order, the battle for the final podium spot provided thrilling entertainment for the capacity crowd. A tense late-race scrap involving Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris played right into the hands of the chasing pack, allowing the championship leader to capitalize on the chaos and secure valuable points to extend their advantage at the top of the standings.

The race rhythm was temporarily interrupted on lap eight when Gabriel Bortoleto suffered a terminal gearbox failure, forcing the rookie to park his Audi at the pit exit and triggering a brief Virtual Safety Car intervention. Marshals swiftly cleared the stricken car, allowing racing to resume under green flag conditions midway through the ninth lap.
Once released from the minor restriction, Verstappen immediately hammered out a sequence of blistering laps to break out of DRS range over Leclerc. This decisive surge cemented his victory charge, officially erasing his previous frustrations at Marina Bay and delivering a statement win for the Milton Keynes squad.
