Max Verstappen faces a tense trip to the stewards during the Singapore Grand Prix weekend following an alleged infringement during a chaotic opening sprint qualifying session at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

The dramatic sequence of events unfolded after Cadillac driver Sergio Perez suffered a heavy crash at Turn 4. The Mexican racer crunched the nose of his car squarely into the barrier, immediately triggering initial yellow flags around the demanding city-center street track.

Although Sergio Perez managed to engage reverse gear and limp back onto the asphalt, double-waved yellow flags were swiftly deployed as significant amounts of carbon fibre debris were left scattered across the racing line, threatening the safety of the following pack.
