Maverick Vinales has denied reports suggesting he will leave Red Bull KTM Tech3 before the end of the 2026 MotoGP season, insisting that he intends to complete the campaign according to his contract.
Reports of a potential rider change emerged ahead of the British MotoGP on 7-9 August. Vinales was said to be at risk of being replaced by Pol Espargaro for the remainder of the season, with his ongoing shoulder recovery cited as one of the factors surrounding the situation.
Vinales publicly rejected those reports through Instagram. “I start to read articles without sense,” he wrote. The Spaniard explained that he had recently visited the Red Bull Athlete Performance Centre in an attempt to understand why his recovery had not progressed as expected.
Vinales said the information gathered from that assessment was being compared with advice from his own doctors to determine the source of the problem and identify how his recovery could be improved. His immediate focus therefore remains on his physical condition following the shoulder injury.
“Stop writing stupid articles about me, I will not race in SBK and I will finish the year as my contract says,” Vinales stated. His message directly rejected both suggestions that he could leave KTM before the season ends and that he could move to WorldSBK.
