Marc Marquez once again showcased his class at MotorLand Aragon by claiming his fourth win of the season. In a race full of drama, the Spanish rider dominated and outpaced Pedro Acosta and Marco Bezzecchi, who had to settle for second and third places respectively.
As the lights went out, Marquez got a perfect start and led into Turn 1. However, a rear ride-height device issue disrupted his rhythm. Bezzecchi seized the opportunity to take the lead at Turn 3, with Jorge Martin briefly moving up to second before being repelled.
Bezzecchi led for the opening laps, building a gap of up to 0.7 seconds. Marquez and Acosta stayed close, and the pressure paid off on lap six. Marquez made a decisive move at Turn 15 to retake the lead, while Acosta moved into second after passing Bezzecchi at the next corner.
Once in front, Marquez began setting fastest laps. His tire management was impeccable, stretching the gap to over a second over Acosta. The battle behind was equally intense, with several riders like Francesco Bagnaia, Franco Morbidelli, and Toprak Razgatlioglu failing to finish.
At the chequered flag, Marquez held on to take a commanding victory. Acosta secured second, while Bezzecchi completed the podium. Alex Marquez and Jorge Martin rounded out the top five.
Key to Victory: Consistency and Tire Management
Consistent pace in the middle of the race was the key differentiator for Marquez. After clocking 1:47.0 in the early laps, he dipped into the 1:46.7 range on lap 14, leaving his rivals behind. Acosta tried to respond but couldn't match that consistency, especially in the final sector.
This win further cements Marquez's dominance at counter-clockwise tracks like Aragon and adds crucial points to the championship battle. With this result, the 2026 MotoGP title race is shaping up to be a thrilling one.
