Marc Marquez delivered a masterclass performance to claim a dominant sprint race victory at the Japanese Grand Prix, leading every single lap at Motegi.
The action exploded right from the start as Marquez went wheel-to-wheel with polesitter Jorge Martin down the straight, squeezing his rival on the outside at Turn 1 to snatch an early lead that he would comfortably manage to the chequered flag.
Chaos unfolded further down the order on the opening lap when a braking error from Alex Marquez at Turn 3 wiped out both Pedro Acosta and Fabio Di Giannantonio, forcing an early retirement for all three riders in the gravel trap.

Amidst the shuffling positions, Enea Bastianini surged forward while Martin began suffering from severe late-race tyre degradation, struggling to defend his position as the laps wound down.
Although Martin crossed the line in second place, a post-race track limits penalty dropped the championship leader down to third, promoting Diogo Moreira to an unexpected career-best second position behind the race winner.
