Marco Bezzecchi claimed a brilliant victory in the main MotoGP race at Mandalika, leading an unprecedented lockout of the top four positions for the Noale manufacturer. This dominant performance marked a stunning turnaround following a disastrous sprint race just a day prior.
The race burst into action right from the start as polesitter Raul Fernandez defended his lead at Turn 1, while Bezzecchi ran slightly deep on the brakes and dropped to second. Meanwhile, Jorge Martin suffered a sluggish launch from fifth on the grid, slipping down to sixth behind the Ducati contingent before rapidly recovering.
Drama unfolded early when Fermin Aldeguer crashed out at the end of lap two, opening the door for Martin to charge through the field. The Spaniard swiftly overtook reigning champion Marc Marquez on lap three to climb into the podium places, though the front two had already established a comfortable gap.
At the front, Bezzecchi and Fernandez engaged in a gripping tactical duel, trading fastest laps as they searched for supremacy. By the latter half of the race, Bezzecchi's superior pace became undeniable, culminating in a decisive overtake at Turn 1 on lap 19 to snatch the lead.
Once clear in clean air, the Italian pulled away effortlessly to cross the finish line 4.2 seconds ahead, securing his first victory in over four months. Third place for Martin was enough to catapult him back to the summit of the championship standings.
