MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Marco Bezzecchi delivered a commanding performance for Aprilia Racing during Friday Free Practice 1 at the 2026 Thai MotoGP in Buriram, round one of the 22-race championship.
The Italian controlled the 45-minute session from the early stages, setting a benchmark lap of 1m29.346s aboard the RS-GP26. The result underlined Aprilia’s competitive continuity from last weekend’s pre-season test, where the Noale manufacturer also set the pace. Three Aprilia machines finished inside the top four, confirming strong one-lap and medium-tyre consistency in hot conditions.
Fabio Di Giannantonio led the VR46 Racing Team charge as the fastest Ducati rider, just 0.110s adrift of Bezzecchi. Team-mate Jorge Martin secured third despite being the only faller of the session after a lowside at the final corner. Trackhouse rider Ai Ogura climbed to fourth late in the session, further reinforcing Aprilia’s early-season technical edge.

Pedro Acosta was the leading KTM Factory Racing representative in fifth, narrowly ahead of reigning world champion Marc Marquez for Ducati Lenovo Team. Team-mate Francesco Bagnaia followed in seventh, keeping four manufacturers inside the top seven as the early competitive order begins to take shape.
Further down the order, Luca Marini was the top Honda HRC rider in tenth, while rookies Diogo Moreira and Toprak Razgatlioglu concluded their first official MotoGP session in 16th and 21st respectively. With Practice later in the afternoon determining direct Q2 qualification, strategic time attacks will be decisive in refining the weekend hierarchy.
