MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Marco Bezzecchi set the fastest time in the warm-up session for the 2026 Brazilian MotoGP at Goiania, leading a competitive field ahead of Marc Marquez and Alex Marquez in a short but significant pre-race session.
The Aprilia Racing rider posted a best lap of 1:17.824 under dry track conditions during the ten-minute session, providing a final reference ahead of the main race. Bezzecchi’s pace confirmed the competitive potential of the RS-GP26 package, particularly over a single-lap run.
Marc Marquez finished second, 0.293 seconds adrift on the Ducati Lenovo Team machine, with Alex Marquez completing the top three for Gresini Racing. The session once again highlighted Ducati’s depth, with multiple riders consistently inside the top positions.

Further down the order, Francesco Bagnaia and Fermin Aldeguer secured fourth and fifth respectively, maintaining Ducati’s strong presence. Meanwhile, Jorge Martin placed seventh for Aprilia, ahead of Fabio Quartararo, who was the leading Yamaha rider in eighth.
The session was also marked by incidents involving Fabio Di Giannantonio, Franco Morbidelli, and championship leader Pedro Acosta, all of whom suffered crashes during the short outing. No major injuries were reported, but the incidents added uncertainty ahead of the race.
Tyre strategy remained a key topic following the Sprint race. While most riders previously used a hard front and soft rear combination, the medium rear compound became the preferred option for warm-up. However, Yamaha opted to return to the soft rear tyre after difficulties encountered by Toprak Razgatlioglu and Jack Miller in the Sprint using the medium.
According to Michelin, both the soft and medium rear tyres are capable of completing the full 31-lap race distance, with the medium expected to be the primary race choice under dry conditions.
MotoGP’s return to Brazil for the first time since 2004, and to Goiania since 1989, comes without prior testing, placing increased emphasis on data gathered during the race weekend. Teams are therefore relying heavily on sessions such as warm-up to finalise setup and tyre decisions.
With Bezzecchi leading the final pre-race session, attention now shifts to the main race, where tyre management, race pace, and consistency over distance will determine the outcome of the 2026 Brazilian MotoGP.
