MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia Racing delivered a commanding performance to win the MotoGP Brazil 2026 race at Goiania, leading an Aprilia 1-2 finish in a Grand Prix shortened due to track surface issues.
MotoGP’s return to Brazil for the first time since 2004 was affected by multiple disruptions throughout the weekend. Heavy rainfall caused flooding in parts of the circuit earlier in the week, followed by surface damage on the main straight discovered on Saturday. These issues culminated in a late decision by Race Direction under FIM to reduce the race distance from 31 to 23 laps just minutes before the start.
Despite the uncertainty, the race began as scheduled, with Bezzecchi launching from second on the grid and immediately taking control into Turn 1. He quickly established a gap of over one second within the opening laps and maintained a consistent pace throughout, crossing the finish line more than three seconds clear of his closest rival.

The victory marks Bezzecchi’s second win of the 2026 MotoGP season and moves him into the championship lead with an 11-point advantage. It also extends his winning momentum from the previous season, reinforcing Aprilia’s competitiveness in the early phase of the championship.
Behind him, Jorge Martin secured second place to complete an Aprilia 1-2 result. This podium marks Martin’s first Grand Prix top-three finish since clinching the 2024 world title, achieved through consistent pace and effective race management in the latter stages.
The battle for third featured an intense duel between Fabio Di Giannantonio and Marc Marquez. After multiple position changes, Di Giannantonio held firm to secure the final podium position, restoring Ducati to the podium after a challenging previous round.
Further down the order, Ai Ogura finished fifth for Trackhouse Racing, followed by Alex Marquez. Meanwhile, Pedro Acosta finished seventh after a soft tyre strategy failed to deliver the expected performance with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing.
Several incidents impacted the race outcome, including crashes for Joan Mir and Francesco Bagnaia, both of whom retired. Jack Miller and Brad Binder also failed to finish after separate incidents.
In the midfield, Johann Zarco emerged as the top Honda finisher in ninth for LCR Honda, while home rider Diogo Moreira secured points with a 13th-place finish.
Bezzecchi’s dominant victory under variable and challenging conditions highlights both rider execution and the technical strength of the Aprilia package. With a reshaped championship picture and momentum building, focus now shifts to the next round at the Circuit of the Americas, where consistency and adaptability will be critical in the evolving MotoGP title fight.
