MotoGP star Marc Marquez admitted he was truly amazed by the incredible reception from thousands of fans who packed the streets of Mataram City. The world champion's presence became the main magnet in the Riders Parade welcoming the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia at the Sirkuit Mandalika.
During an interview session on the sidelines of the parade, the Spanish rider expressed his happiness at being able to directly greet his supporters in Lombok once again. According to him, the atmosphere created by fans in Indonesia always increases extraordinarily from year to year.
"Look, this is a truly amazing event here. With so many fans—thousands of them in Lombok. I’ve been here in this parade two years ago, and it was already amazing, but it seems every year it is more and more festive," Marquez said with enthusiasm.
Apart from praising the spectator atmosphere, he also paid special attention to the movement of local young riders. Marc Marquez appreciated the presence of local talents such as Veda Ega Pratama who also became local heroes for fans at the circuit.
He also hopes that the positive results he achieved the previous weekend in Japan can be an important asset to break the unfortunate trend when racing in Indonesia. As is known, he has a record of never finishing a main race at the Sirkuit Mandalika since 2022.
"It is nice to be back here again. Let's see if this year we can change our luck in Indonesia. We had a nice weekend in Japan, so hopefully there is a little bit of momentum brought here to Indonesia as well," he added.
Facing the race weekend, Marc Marquez emphasized that his main focus right now is to try to enjoy every moment on the track and maximize the potential of his new machine to achieve the best results for the team.
