A masterclass performance was delivered by Lewis Hamilton during the final sprint race of the year at the Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore. Starting from sixth on the grid, the marquee Scuderia Ferrari star immediately showcased his exceptional racecraft by carving his way up to third place right off the line. Amidst treacherous wet track conditions, the British driver kept his nerve and maintained total control of his red machine, benefiting from an early exit suffered by his former teammate, George Russell. The Mercedes star, who had initially grabbed the lead in the opening meters, spun off the tarmac and was fortunate not to be collected by the following Ferrari cars.
Executing a flawless race, Hamilton successfully crossed the finish line in second place directly behind polesetter Max Verstappen. Reflecting on his performance after the chequered flag, he expressed immense satisfaction with his pace. I had a mega start, which was simply great. I love driving on this track in the rain and under such conditions, so as soon as it started pouring, I thought to myself, This is going to be a great day, Hamilton beamed.
The seasoned veteran further elaborated on his strategic battle trying to chase down the race leader at the front. I tried to get closer to Max without ruining my tires, so I wasn't really attacking fully, but I kept him in check. Then I realized we still had a long way to go at that point. I don't think we can overtake under those conditions, there is only one dry line. So I backed off a bit, after which the front right tire started overheating slightly, but then I regained control and pushed harder towards the end to close the gap, he explained regarding his tire management.

Looking ahead with great optimism, Hamilton delivered a clear fighting talk to the championship frontrunners. We have shown that we clearly have a good car. I think if we can do a bit better in qualifying and get both cars right up at the front, we will be able to put both Mercedes and Red Bull Racing under serious pressure on Sunday, he warned.
While acknowledging the baseline pace of his opponents, the multi-time world champion remains confident in Ferrari's upward trajectory. They are fast, of course, but we can stay right on their heels. Hopefully, we can secure a slightly better starting position in the upcoming qualifying session, Hamilton concluded.
