The competitive landscape of Formula 2 continues to evolve as teams plan well ahead for future campaigns. Hitech has officially confirmed that Joshua Durksen will join the squad for the 2027 FIA Formula 2 season.
This announcement makes the Paraguayan driver the very first confirmation within the British team's driver lineup for next year. He arrives with a solid foundation of three years' experience in the Formula 2 Championship since making his category debut back in 2024.
Throughout his time in Formula 2, the Mercedes Development Driver has proven his race-winning credentials on track. He has secured eight victories and a total of 16 podium finishes prior to making this upcoming switch to Hitech.
Looking ahead to his new chapter, Joshua Durksen expressed tremendous excitement about joining the outfit for the upcoming season. "I am incredibly excited to be joining Hitech for the 2027 Formula 2 season," he stated regarding his career move.
He further emphasized the pedigree of his new team in the paddock. "Hitech has shown for many years that it is one of the strongest teams in Formula 2 and I am very proud to have the opportunity to race with them. The new car for 2027 gives us another exciting challenge and I am really motivated to get started," he added.
Offering the team's perspective, Hitech’s F2 Head of Race Engineering Jan Sumann welcomed the signing. He noted that Joshua Durksen brings vital experience, proven speed, and strong racecraft as the team prepares to tackle the evolution of the Formula 2 car in 2027.
