Jorge Martin has been forced to withdraw from Sunday's main race at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix after suffering a severe arm fracture during a high-speed accident at Phillip Island.
The 2024 world champion crashed heavily at the fast Turn 8 on the eighth lap of Saturday's sprint race while engaged in an intense battle for the victory against his championship rival, Marc Marquez.
The impact sent the rider tumbling violently through the gravel trap before marshals rushed to assist him, eventually carrying him away from the scene on a stretcher.

Following initial evaluations at the circuit's medical center, medical personnel diagnosed a fracture in his right arm. His factory squad, Aprilia, quickly confirmed that he would take no further part in the Australian Grand Prix weekend.
An official statement released by the team outlined that Jorge Martin was taken to the circuit medical center following his crash, where X-rays revealed a fracture of the right radius and a suspected fracture of the right ulna at the distal end. He will undergo further examinations, and the team confirmed he has been declared unfit for Sunday's race.
