Jorge Lorenzo still holds the record for most wins at Silverstone in the modern MotoGP era with three consecutive victories in 2010, 2012, and 2013. His dominance on the fast, flowing circuit highlighted the perfect match between the track's characteristics and his smooth, precise riding style.
However, Silverstone's main allure lies in the inability of any single rider to dominate over the past two decades. From 2013 to 2024, there have been 10 different winners in the last 10 races, a record that makes the British GP one of the most unpredictable events on the MotoGP calendar.
Among those winners, Valentino Rossi has a total of six wins at the British GP, though most were achieved at Donington Park. His only Silverstone win came in 2015 in a legendary wet race, showcasing his brilliance in reading track conditions.

Meanwhile, Marc Marquez has won only once at Silverstone, in 2014, despite being highly dominant elsewhere. The physically demanding nature of the circuit and his shoulder injury proneness have often been his biggest challenge here, limiting his chances to add more British wins.
The intense competition means almost every top active rider has tasted the top step of the podium at Silverstone at least once. Maverick Vinales (2016), Fabio Quartararo (2021), Francesco Bagnaia (2022), Aleix Espargaro (2023), Enea Bastianini (2024), and Marco Bezzecchi (2025) are all winners here, proving no single rider can dominate.
The wide and fast layout allows plenty of overtaking in the final laps, making rear tire management and physical endurance against strong winds key factors for victory. This combination creates an unpredictability that makes Silverstone one of the most exciting and hardest-to-predict circuits on the MotoGP calendar.
