Eurocup-3 champion James Egozi has been officially announced as the first signing for Lando Norris's LN4 Fusion team ahead of the 2027 FIA Formula 3 championship. The 18-year-old American driver becomes the squad's inaugural confirmation since its official launch in early September, following the acquisition of assets and the F3 championship entry previously held by AIX Racing.
The path to an FIA F3 seat for James Egozi is underlined by his dominant campaign in Eurocup-3 this season. Driving for Palou Motorsport—the racing outfit owned by five-time IndyCar champion Alex Palou—he secured the championship title with two rounds still remaining, racking up an impressive eight victories and four additional podium finishes across 15 races.
Egozi began his single-seater career competing in Formula 4 with PHM in Italy and the Central European Zone, where he took two race wins. His talent was recognized by the Red Bull Junior Team for an F4 campaign in Spain in 2024 alongside Campos Racing, though he parted ways with the driver development programme at the conclusion of that year.
For the 2025 season, James Egozi joined Alex Palou's squad for both the Eurocup Winter Series, finishing third with two wins, and the main championship. Despite missing the final round and placing ninth overall, he claimed five top-five finishes, highlighted by a commanding victory at Portimao.
In addition to his primary championship success, James Egozi also displayed promising pace during two outings in the Formula Regional European Championship and secured a 14th-place finish at the prestigious Macau Grand Prix, further establishing his credentials.
Reflecting on his new milestone, James Egozi expressed his gratitude to the entire team for the opportunity to join such an exciting project with LN4 Fusion, stating that he is fully prepared to continue his driver development and is hungrier than ever for the upcoming 2027 season.
LN4 Fusion CEO Dan Richards welcomed the acquisition, noting that the young American has always been an intriguing prospect and made a remarkable breakthrough by dominating Eurocup-3 this year, adding that his results speak for themselves as the team establishes itself in FIA F3.
