Izan Guevara claimed his second Moto2 victory of the 2026 season at the Austrian Grand Prix, reducing Manuel Gonzalez's championship lead to 35.5 points.
Starting from fifth, Guevara capitalized on a chaotic opening lap to take the lead on lap 2. From there, the Spaniard managed his pace expertly, crossing the line with a two-second advantage over polesitter Filip Salac despite a late scare.
Championship leader Gonzalez initially grabbed the holeshot from P2 but quickly dropped down the order. Salac briefly led, but Ivan Ortola and Guevara slipped past. Behind them, David Alonso charged from sixth to secure the final podium spot after Ortola's lap 15 error.

Further back, Senna Agius had a nightmare race, retiring after dropping down the order, while Alex Escrig joined him on the DNF list after a lap 10 crash at Turn 2. Guevara's win sets up a thrilling title fight for the remainder of the season.
