Jack Hughes has officially unveiled a striking new livery for his Trans Am car, timed perfectly with a crucial moment in his career. The unveiling took place at Llewellyn Motors in Ipswich on Thursday, with the new look replacing the familiar red, white, blue, and black colours that have long been associated with the young driver.

Iconic Chevrolet Touch

The rear half of the car features a gradient motif similar to Team 18's Supercars Camaros, with the Chevrolet bow tie logo fading from front to rear. The significant backing from the American manufacturer is clear, reinforcing Hughes' status as one of their key drivers in the category.

“It's super exciting. We had this planned for a while to do up the livery and redo the whole look of the team because we're obviously on the attack to try and get to Supercars and we really want to go down the path,” Hughes told Speedcafe.

“Chevy has been in my corner for a long, long time and I'm one of their main guys. As you can see by the livery, it really shows that we are a proper Chevrolet operation, or a Chevrolet driver in my case.”

The addition of orange numbers also symbolises the driver's current standing as the championship leader. Hughes acknowledged that this moment is the result of hard work and support from many parties, including Erebus Motorsport, which gave him the opportunity to compete in endurance events.

After a difficult period in Super2, Hughes has rediscovered his best form in Trans Am. The maiden win and pole position he secured in Perth last weekend are clear evidence of the Queenslander's resurgence, providing valuable momentum as he aims to climb the ladder.

“Super2 wasn't ideal, but the revitaliser was actually Barry and Betty at Erebus. Having the faith in me to do the co-drive with them is what put me back on the board,” he explained. “I was able to do a good job in the enduros last year, and they put me back on the stage.”

With full support from Chevrolet, Erebus, and other sponsors, Hughes is now in a very strong position to continue showcasing his abilities. His target is clear: to break into Supercars and keep growing.
