Formula 1, Sportrik Media - Christian Horner has received strong backing from FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem regarding a potential return to the Formula 1 paddock after nearly a year away.

The former Red Bull Racing team principal departed after a 20-year tenure that delivered eight drivers’ championships through Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen, along with six constructors’ titles.

Since his departure, Horner has been linked with a potential return, including speculation surrounding Alpine, although no official move has materialised.

“You cannot remove Christian Horner’s name from motorsport and Formula 1. We miss him in this sport, and I do personally,” Ben Sulayem said.

“Someone with that kind of record will always find a way back. When he returns, it will feel like he just went on vacation.”

Ben Sulayem emphasised that Horner’s track record remains a key factor in any potential comeback, despite the circumstances surrounding his departure from Red Bull.
