Ever since its triumphant return to the European market for the 2024 model year, the Honda CBR600RR has firmly reestablished itself among sports bike enthusiasts, racking up over 9,600 sales across the continent. The winning formula continues to rely on a seamless blend of everyday usability and uncompromising racetrack performance. For the 2027 model year, the manufacturer is rolling out targeted updates designed to sharpen riding dynamics, visual appeal, and rider feedback.
At the beating heart of the CBR600RR remains its high-revving inline-four engine. It continues to pump out a formidable 121 horsepower at 14,250 rpm alongside 63 Nm of torque at 11,500 rpm, remaining one of the most defining powerplants in the entire supersport category. An assist and slipper clutch alongside a standard quickshifter ensure crisp, lightning-fast gear changes whether navigating tight hairpins or accelerating hard down straightaways.
New for the 2027 model year are radially mounted brake calipers on the dual front disc setup, directly inherited from the flagship superbike, the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. The accompanying ABS system now features three selectable modes consisting of Standard, Track, and Race profiles. A revised front fairing sporting an integrated winglet design yields a cleaner, more cohesive aesthetic while maintaining optimal aerodynamic efficiency at high speeds.
Inside the cockpit, an upgraded 5-inch full-color TFT display enhances screen legibility and streamlines menu navigation. Electronically, the machine remains heavily equipped with a Bosch six-axis IMU, ride-by-wire throttle, multi-level traction control, wheelie control, rear-lift mitigation, and cornering ABS. Riders can fine-tune every electronic intervention to match grip levels on the tarmac.
For dedicated trackday enthusiasts and pure racing applications, Honda is offering three distinct HRC Race Kits for 2027, containing components strictly unauthorized for public road use. These track-only enhancements feature revised suspension damping elements, steel-braided brake lines, modified intake funnels, a full titanium exhaust system, a high-capacity radiator, revised camshafts, and a meticulously ported cylinder head.
