Honda is refreshing its Honda CB750 Hornet lineup for 2027. After a strong showing in the European market, the Japanese manufacturer has decided to keep the proven mechanical formula intact, instead introducing four new color options that are fresher and more aggressive. This move aims to sustain sales momentum and further cement the Hornet's position as one of the best-selling naked bikes in Europe.
Throughout 2025, the CB750 Hornet recorded sales of over 10,000 units in Europe. That achievement placed it among the top three best-selling naked motorcycles for two consecutive years. With numbers like that, it's no surprise Honda is reluctant to overhaul a winning package. This year's updates focus mainly on looks, offering a new feel without sacrificing the core character that riders have come to love.
Four New Color Schemes for 2027
For the 2027 model year, Honda is offering four brand-new color combinations. These include Gunmetal Black Metallic with Ballistic Black Metallic, Mat Beta Silver Metallic with Iridium Gray Metallic, Glint Wave Blue with Mat Ballistic Black Metallic, and Grand Prix Red with Gunmetal Black Metallic. These combinations are designed to highlight the bike's compact and aggressive stance while providing more variety for customers.
The color update also feels timely after the CB750 Hornet's participation in Hondacustoms.com 2026. In that customization contest, this naked bike was one of the stars, proving that its platform is flexible enough for various modification styles.
755cc Engine and E-Clutch Retained
Mechanically, nothing significant has changed. The 2027 CB750 Hornet still relies on the 755cc parallel-twin engine shared with other models in Honda's lineup. This engine has been the backbone of the current Hornet generation, striking a balance between performance and efficiency.
The hallmark Honda E-Clutch technology introduced on the 2026 model remains available. This system allows riders to shift gears without manually pulling the clutch lever. Even so, riders can still use the conventional method if they prefer, keeping a direct connection to the engine.
The E-Clutch's functionality goes beyond simplifying gear changes. Working in tandem with the electronic throttle (TBW), it also manages engine revs during downshifts, providing an automatic blip effect for smoother transitions. This is especially helpful in congested urban riding, where constant stop-and-go makes manual clutch use tiring.
