Hadjar Injured, Red Bull Calls Up Lawson for Dutch GP

Zandvoort holds a special place in Isack Hadjar's heart, but this time it's turning into a nightmare. The Frenchman has been ruled out of the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix after sustaining a wrist injury during a gym session. Ironically, it was at this very circuit that he secured his first F1 podium last year.

The news immediately triggered a major reshuffle in Red Bull's driver lineup. Liam Lawson, who lost his seat after a tough start to 2025, has been called up to replace Hadjar in the RB22. This marks a second chance for Lawson, who previously struggled to secure his place at Milton Keynes.

As a result, Yuki Tsunoda, who was serving as Racing Bulls' reserve driver, will step up to race for the junior team alongside Arvid Lindblad. It's not an ideal situation, but both teams have confirmed everything is running smoothly.

Official Statements and Recovery Plan

Red Bull confirmed Hadjar's injury occurred during the summer break. In their official statement, the team wished him a speedy recovery and thanked Lawson for stepping in at short notice. Racing Bulls also issued a statement, confirming Tsunoda's return to the grid at Zandvoort.

This decision undoubtedly reshuffles the competitive order. Lawson has prior experience racing at Zandvoort, while Tsunoda is familiar with the RB car. However, losing Hadjar is a significant blow, given his impressive form this season.

The plan is for Hadjar to rest in the Netherlands and target a comeback for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Hopefully, this injury won't derail his rising career.
