Manuel Gonzalez capitalized on early chaos to claim a dominant Moto2 victory at Misano. Starting from the second row, the Spanish rider navigated a dramatic Turn 1 incident that wiped out the entire front row.
The chaos began when Angel Piqueras, starting third, made contact with polesitter Senna Agius, triggering a chain reaction. Piqueras and Agius crashed out, while Daniel Holgado was also taken down and Daniel Munoz had to take evasive action, dropping to seventh.
With the top four riders eliminated, Collin Veijer inherited the lead from Gonzalez. However, it didn't take long for Gonzalez to assert his control, taking just three laps to pass Veijer for the lead.
Once ahead, Gonzalez didn't break away immediately. Veijer and Ivan Ortola kept close, while Barry Baltus showed pace and moved into fourth. Baltus briefly challenged for the podium, taking third from Ortola, but his victory hopes were dashed when he received a long lap penalty for track limits.
After serving the penalty, Baltus maintained third but lost ground to the leaders and came under pressure from Ortola. Nevertheless, no one could match Gonzalez, who eventually pulled away to win by over two seconds.
Veijer finished second, with Baltus completing the podium after his penalty. Ortola was fourth, ahead of Tony Arbolino, whose late-race pace secured fifth.
Izan Guevara took sixth ahead of Celestino Vietti, while Alonso Lopez, David Alonso, and Alex Escrig rounded out the top 10. Adrian Huertas edged teammate Munoz for 11th and 12th, with Joe Roberts 13th. Alberto Ferrandez and Aron Canet completed the points in 14th and 15th.
