Gigi Dall'Igna has reached a monumental milestone with Ducati, securing the manufacturer's one-hundredth Grand Prix victory in the premier class. This historic achievement was sealed at Motegi, where Marc Marquez delivered a masterclass performance to hit the triple-digit landmark.
When the Italian mastermind took over the technical leadership back in late 2013, the Bologna-based project was enduring a challenging phase. Through relentless innovation in aerodynamics and ride-height devices, he successfully turned the Desmosedici into the ultimate benchmark of modern motorcycle racing.
Reflecting on the journey, Dall'Igna admitted that Andrea Iannone's breakthrough victory in Austria remains his fondest memory, acting as the crucial turning point for the entire racing department's confidence.
Beyond the trophies and championship titles, the seasoned technical director emphasizes that the collective engineering knowledge accumulated over the years is Ducati's true superpower, ensuring long-term competitiveness ahead of future technical rule changes.
