The junior single-seater racing landscape is set for a major shake-up as the Formula 3 championship officially unveiled its 2027 calendar. According to the latest announcements reported by FormulaPassion, the rising stars of motorsport will face an expanded 10-round schedule, an increase from the nine events held in 2026. These young talents must now master brand-new circuits as they fight their way toward the pinnacle of single-seater racing.
Major changes are immediately visible at the very start of the season, with Bahrain returning to the schedule after previous cancellations due to Middle Eastern conflicts. The Sakhir circuit will host the season opener from March 12 to 14. Immediately following the race in Sakhir, the F3 grid will head straight to Saudi Arabia to make their historic debut at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, marking the first of three major novelties for the upcoming year.
The championship's global expansion continues into North America, with Canada featuring on the calendar for the very first time. The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal will welcome the junior category from May 20 to 23. This move follows the successful integration of other racing categories in North America, offering crucial international experience to the next generation of potential grand prix drivers.
Meanwhile, traditional European venues such as Spa-Francorchamps, the Hungaroring, and Barcelona have been dropped, with Madrid stepping in to host the Spanish Grand Prix. However, legendary venues remain firmly on the schedule, culminating in a brand-new season finale at the Istanbul Park circuit in Turkey, which will host the championship showdown from October 1 to 3.
With a tougher and more diverse challenge ahead, the 2027 season promises to be a stern test for every competitor aiming to follow in the footsteps of past champions like Ugo Ugochukwu. The battle for supremacy across these ten demanding rounds will undoubtedly shape the future stars of international motorsport.
