Ford is reportedly working on a new model called the Mustang Mach 4. It won't be a pure muscle car, nor a crossover, but rather a four-door sedan that, in terms of lines and dimensions, could remind you of the Porsche Panamera. This comes from Carscoops, which cited details that emerged during a private meeting with dealers in Las Vegas, where Ford unveiled the first physical prototype of the new model.
According to those present at the event, Ford is planning a starting price below $40,000 and a 0-100 km/h acceleration in less than 4 seconds. As for the engine, the new Mustang Mach 4 is expected to feature hybrid propulsion, specifically a hybrid V8, though specifications are not yet known. Such a configuration would allow Ford to meet increasingly stringent emission regulations while maintaining the distinctive character of a muscle car, rather than opting for a fully electric system like the Mach-E.
And that's not all. According to circulating information, the new car will use an extended version of the current Mustang platform, a choice that would help the company reduce research and development costs and allow it to leverage components it already knows well. The new Ford Mustang Mach 4 is expected to hit the roads towards the end of the decade. In other words, in the coming weeks, Ford will surely release new details.
