A sun-baked Queensland Raceway set the stage for a stunning display of Ford dominance in Repco Supercars Championship qualifying at Ipswich. The scorching conditions were a stark contrast to the cloudy skies that produced record times on Saturday, but it was Kai Allen who rose to the occasion.
The Grove Racing driver clocked a 1:09.0149s lap in his Ford Mustang to secure the top spot for the Top 10 Shootout, also being the last driver to set a time. Allen's performance was not just impressive; it underscored Ford's strength on this circuit.
Even more striking, Ford occupied nine of the top ten positions. The only interloper was Chaz Mostert in fifth place with his Toyota GR Supra. Behind Allen, the Triple Eight duo of Will Brown and Broc Feeney followed in second and third, with Brodie Kostecki of Dick Johnson Racing completing the top four.

Allen's teammate Matthew Payne took sixth, ahead of James Golding (Blanchard Racing Team), Cameron Waters (Tickford Racing), Aaron Cameron (Blanchard Racing Team), and Rylan Gray (Dick Johnson Racing). Meanwhile, Anton De Pasquale was the best-placed Chevrolet driver in 11th for Team 18.
While Mostert made the Top 10 Shootout, his Walkinshaw TWG teammate Ryan Wood could only manage 17th. This sets the stage for a tense shootout, with Ford holding the upper hand and Toyota hoping to fight back.
