Ferrari has finally broken its silence. After weeks of intensifying speculation about Fred Vasseur's future, the Maranello-based team released a firm statement reaffirming full confidence in their Team Principal. The statement came shortly after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, amid swirling rumours.
The issue is nothing new. In recent weeks, the Ferrari hot seat has been a hot topic. Pressure mounted following a difficult summer period, and the situation escalated when former Red Bull boss Christian Horner expressed interest in the role. Speculation became unstoppable.

It is a reflection of the strength of what Ferrari really represents," they added. However, they do not intend to fuel speculation or comment on outside assumptions. Ferrari's move is aimed at maintaining focus ahead of the next race in Malaysia. "We are doing that today, on Tuesday, 29th September, because we would like to avoid that in the next weekend in Malaysia being occupied only with this kind of gossip and speculation, but we would like to be focused on the race, on the performance, on the team, on Fred, and of course the leadership is taking to bring ahead the Scuderia Ferrari HP," they emphasised.
With this statement, Ferrari hopes to calm the storm. They want everyone, especially the team, to stay united and concentrate on the rest of the season. In the ultra-competitive world of Formula 1, outside distractions can be counterproductive.
For Vasseur, this support is a morale boost. But the pressure remains. History shows that the hot seat at a team like Ferrari is never truly cold. Now, the ball is in Vasseur's court to prove that the trust is justified.
