Ferrari Backs Vasseur Amid Rumors: Stability Key for 2026

Ferrari has finally broken its silence. Amid a storm of speculation surrounding the team principal role, the Scuderia gathered the media this week to make one thing clear: their trust in Frederic Vasseur has never wavered.

The move was not without reason. Vasseur's name became a hot topic after Christian Horner, former Red Bull boss, openly expressed interest in joining Ferrari in an interview with The Times. That statement immediately sparked wild speculation about the future of the Italian team's leadership.

Vasseur addressed the matter head-on. In the regular Friday team principals' press conference, he explained why Ferrari felt compelled to issue an official statement. “I think you have to ask your colleagues,” Vasseur said, as quoted by FormulaPassion. “When you see all the fuss and rumors circulating in the media all week, I think as a team we need to work with serenity, and that was absolutely not the case. I think that statement was necessary to do something, otherwise this weekend would have gone the same way.”

The Frenchman stressed that his main focus now is internal stability. “Honestly, the main problem we have today is stability, serenity within the team, the concentration we need, and not having to face this kind of question all day,” he emphasized.

Speculation about Vasseur's future is nothing new. Since joining in early 2023, he has faced high expectations to return Ferrari to championship glory. Although he has yet to deliver a world title, the team's progress in recent seasons, particularly in race management and car development, is starting to show signs of improvement.

This public backing from Ferrari is a crucial signal for team stability. In the ultra-competitive world of Formula 1, outside distractions can have a significant impact on on-track performance. By reaffirming Vasseur's position, Ferrari hopes to quell rumors and redirect the entire staff's focus to the main task: chasing victories.

Ferrari's decision to speak out also reflects how media pressure and driver market speculation can affect internal team dynamics. Vasseur himself seems eager to close this chapter and return to the real work in the garage and on the pit wall.

For Ferrari fans, this news is certainly a relief. With stability maintained, the hope of seeing Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz compete at the front is increasingly open. However, the true test remains on track, and Vasseur knows full well that performance at every Grand Prix will be the best answer to any doubts.
