Raul Fernandez produced a flawless performance at the British Grand Prix, leading all 20 laps from lights to flag to secure his maiden MotoGP victory at Silverstone. The Trackhouse rider was never challenged, cementing Aprilia's satellite squad as a genuine front-runner.
The race was intense from the start. Marco Bezzecchi and Ai Ogura made quick getaways but struggled with their rear ride-height devices into Abbey, sending sparks flying. Meanwhile, Marc Marquez surged from sixth to third by Aintree, only to be demoted by Jorge Martin before the end of lap one.
Fernandez established a one-second lead over Bezzecchi, with Martin third and Marquez fourth. The attrition began early as former Suzuki teammates Joan Mir and Alex Rins crashed on the opening lap. Later, Enea Bastianini lost the front at Vale, and local hero Cal Crutchlow crashed his LCR Honda.

The biggest shock came when Francesco Bagnaia, the factory Ducati rider, ran off at Luffield and retired. Alex Marquez briefly took third from Bezzecchi but lost two places when he got loose entering Abbey. He recovered to fourth but couldn't find a way past Bezzecchi for the final podium spot.
At the front, Fernandez controlled the race perfectly, winning by 2.5 seconds over Martin. Bezzecchi completed the podium, with Alex Marquez fourth and Pedro Acosta fifth for KTM. Jack Miller was the top Yamaha in 12th, followed by Toprak Razgatlioglu in 14th and Fabio Quartararo in 16th.
“I gave everything I had today, and unfortunately it was enough for 12th,” said Miller. “We tried to fight, but at a certain point the extra risk starts to take its toll in the second half. That's something we need to work on.” He also conceded Aprilia's tyre management advantage. “The Aprilias managed the tyres very well again today. They have the whole package working when it comes to conservation.”
MotoGP returns on August 28-30 for the Aragon Grand Prix at MotorLand Aragon.
