Max Verstappen is preparing for one of the biggest challenges of his career as he makes his Nürburgring 24 Hours debut this weekend. However, the majority of Formula 1 fans still believe a potential victory in the legendary endurance race would not surpass Verstappen’s greatest achievements in F1.
According to a RacingNews365 poll, most respondents believe Verstappen’s 2021 Formula 1 world championship remains the defining accomplishment of his career ahead of any possible Nürburgring success.
Verstappen will start the endurance classic from fourth position aboard a Mercedes-AMG GT3. His participation has already triggered major debate regarding whether victory at the Nordschleife would become the greatest moment of the Dutch driver’s motorsport career.

A total of 36.2 percent of respondents selected Verstappen’s 2021 Formula 1 title as his greatest achievement. That season is widely regarded as one of the most dramatic championship battles in Formula 1 history after Verstappen ended the turbo-hybrid dominance of Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton in the controversial Abu Dhabi finale.
Meanwhile, 31.9 percent believe a Nürburgring 24 Hours victory would become Verstappen’s greatest achievement because it would demonstrate his versatility beyond Formula 1.
From a technical perspective, the Nürburgring challenge is fundamentally different from modern Formula 1. Verstappen must deal with 24-hour endurance racing, tyre management, multi-class traffic, changing weather conditions, and nighttime driving around the notoriously difficult Nordschleife circuit.
Verstappen’s dominant 2023 Formula 1 season, during which he secured a record 19 victories from 22 races, received 18.1 percent of the vote. His 2024 championship attracted 11 percent support, while only 2.8 percent selected his dominant 2022 campaign.
Despite that, many fans still view a potential Nürburgring victory as an important addition to Verstappen’s racing legacy. Winning on his debut would further strengthen his reputation as one of the most complete drivers of the modern era.
The expected rain and fog conditions throughout the weekend are also viewed as factors that could significantly increase the value of such a victory. Verstappen still has relatively limited Nordschleife experience compared to established GT and endurance specialists who have raced at the German circuit for years.
With rapidly changing grip levels and low visibility expected to create chaotic race conditions, Verstappen’s Nürburgring debut has become one of the biggest talking points in international motorsport this weekend.
Apakah kemenangan Nurburgring 24H lebih impresif dari gelar F1 Verstappen?
