Fabio Di Giannantonio faced an exceptionally gruelling weekend at Motegi following a heavy crash during the Japanese MotoGP Sprint race. The opening-lap incident at Turn 3 involved contact with Alex Marquez, which later earned the Spaniard a double long lap penalty.
The aftermath of the crash proved more debilitating than initially anticipated. The Italian rider admitted that a single night of rest was far from enough to heal the physical toll inflicted by the high-speed tumble.
His main limitations stemmed from the right side of his body, where lingering pain in his ribs and hip severely hampered his mobility and natural riding posture aboard the machine.

"I'm struggling a little bit to be free on the bike from this morning, especially on the right side where I got the hit," the VR46 Racing Team rider explained regarding his physical constraints on Sunday.
With the championship heading straight into a consecutive triple-header flyaway, time is running out. His immediate priority is intense physical recovery to arrive as close to full fitness as possible for the upcoming Indonesian Grand Prix.
