FIA Formula 2 and FIA Formula 3 have officially unveiled their respective 2027 racing calendars, showcasing a significant expansion beyond their traditional European heartlands. The upcoming season aims to test aspiring motorsport talents across a truly diverse global footprint as they climb the motorsport ladder towards Formula 1.
For F2, the 2027 schedule introduces thrilling new rounds in Mexico City and Istanbul Park, alongside a welcome return to Montreal following its inclusion as a replacement venue in 2026. Consequently, only five out of the 14 total rounds will take place in Europe, balancing the calendar with fixtures spanning Asia, North America, and Oceania.
Meanwhile, FIA Formula 3 is matching its sister category's ambition by adding rounds in Jeddah and Montreal, while capping off its intense season finale at Istanbul Park. This marks a landmark moment for the current iteration of FIA F3 as it crosses the Atlantic Ocean for the very first time in championship history.

Both feeder series are slated to kick off proceedings with a Middle Eastern double-header in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia during March. The two championships will share race weekends for the opening nine rounds before F2 travels independently to Baku, only to reunite with F3 just a week later in Istanbul for another high-octane showdown.
Reflecting on the expansive vision for the upcoming season, championship CEO Bruno Michel expressed his delight by stating, "We are thrilled to add three new venues in a financially sustainable way, with the return of Montreal following its surprise addition in 2026 and the first appearance of Istanbul and Mexico City."
The extensive calendar overhaul means traditional European rounds at Spa-Francorchamps and the Hungaroring will lose their primary support series for 2027, while Barcelona drops off entirely due to its absence from the F1 schedule. However, this strategic shift opens potential opportunities for regional series like FREC to secure prestigious slots on the European grand prix support bill.
