F1 2027 Grid Taking Shape: Verstappen, Williams, Cadillac Locked In TO NEWS OVERVIEW
? – in assenza di annunci ufficiali

The Formula 1 silly season is heating up as we approach the 2027 season, with several teams moving early to secure their driver line-ups. The latest wave of announcements has brought clarity to some of the most talked-about seats on the grid, while others remain tantalizingly open.

The biggest headline is undoubtedly Max Verstappen committing his future to Red Bull until 2030, extending a contract that was already set to run until 2028. This move puts an end to any speculation about a potential exit and provides the Austrian team with a solid foundation for the future. It's a statement of intent from both parties, signaling their belief in the long-term project at Milton Keynes.

Williams has also confirmed that Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz will remain with the team for 2027, a decision that reflects the progress they have made together. The Grove-based squad is clearly building for the future, and retaining this talented duo is a key part of that strategy. Meanwhile, newcomers Cadillac have locked in Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas, ensuring they have an experienced line-up for their sophomore season.

Other teams are in a more comfortable position. McLaren already has Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri signed long-term, while Ferrari boasts the formidable pairing of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. These teams can now focus entirely on car development without the distraction of contract negotiations.

The Seats Still Up for Grabs

However, not every team is so settled. Mercedes has yet to confirm the futures of Kimi Antonelli and George Russell, whose contracts expire at the end of 2026. While it seems unlikely they will leave, given Antonelli's current championship lead, official confirmation is still pending. Pierre Gasly, on the other hand, has already been confirmed at Alpine, but his teammate remains unknown.

Red Bull's second seat is also up in the air. Isack Hadjar, who was expected to continue, might find himself back at Racing Bulls if his performances don't meet expectations. This uncertainty has left the Faenza-based team in limbo, with Arvid Lindblad and Nikola Tsolov both in the frame. Aston Martin, Haas, and Audi are also still working on their line-ups, with Fernando Alonso's future being a major talking point.

As the summer break comes to an end, the F1 world eagerly awaits the next batch of announcements. With so many seats still open, the 2027 grid promises to be one of the most exciting in recent memory.
