The impressive resurgence of Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing in the latter stages of the Formula 1 season highlights a massive positive trajectory. With two victories in the last three Grands Prix and a narrow 0.196-second deficit in Baku, the powerhouse squad has firmly established itself back at the front of the grid.
Although this performance turnaround has arrived too late to mount a serious title charge, securing a top-three finish or even runner-up spot in the drivers' standings is now a realistic prospect. Verstappen trails Lewis Hamilton by just eight points and sits only 17 points behind George Russell following the Singapore Grand Prix weekend.
When asked by media whether he is already looking ahead to the annual FIA prize-giving gala in Shanghai on 12 December, Verstappen responded with a lighthearted smile. "Is that the prize-giving ceremony? Well, I was really ill last year! But we'll see what happens," he told the media in the Singapore paddock, as reported by Autosport.

However, finishing second or third in the final standings holds little emotional value for Verstappen's fierce competitive mindset. Despite the extremely challenging start to the year and the subsequent recovery, he maintains that settling for runner-up is never the ultimate objective. "No, because ultimately you're not winning. You're not becoming world champion, and that's the only thing that matters to me," he stated firmly.
The cornerstone of Red Bull's renewed confidence stems from their ability to successfully diagnose and solve major car issues. Verstappen pointed out that every single major upgrade introduced on the car has worked as intended, providing a stark contrast to rival teams still wrestling with correlation doubts over their new parts.

Although certain inherent limitations of the current design cannot be fully eliminated mid-season—necessitating more fundamental changes for next year's challenger—the proven development path offers genuine encouragement. Meticulous tracking between factory simulations and real-world track behavior sets the stage for a strong campaign ahead.
