Entering a fresh chapter in MotoGP, Enea Bastianini is rigorously preparing his mental and physical readiness ahead of his much-anticipated switch to the Noale-based manufacturer. The Italian rider fully acknowledges that his true potential has yet to be fully unlocked, particularly after navigating a complex and demanding trajectory with KTM Tech3 over the past two seasons.
Speaking candidly to MotoSprint, the talented contender reflected on his learning curve with the Austrian machinery. He openly admitted to making initial missteps in his approach by trying to force the bike to adapt to his preferred riding style, rather than accepting the reality of the machine's inherent characteristics.
"In short, I would say it's strange, as I haven't yet found the formula that allows me to perform at my best all the time. Sometimes I manage to get the maximum out of it, but other times I don't," Bastianini shared regarding his fluctuating performances on track.

Realizing that his initial strategy was flawed marked a significant turning point in his career development. Instead of persisting with his stubbornness, he began studying competitors who rode differently in order to extract the desired results. "At first, I didn't adapt to the KTM, but tried to make it adapt to me: realizing that was not the right thing was perhaps the hardest thing to accept," he noted.
Beyond the technical adjustments on the tarmac, mental fortitude has played an equally vital role in keeping his championship ambitions on track. Bringing a sports psychologist into his inner circle has provided him with the necessary balance to navigate the emotional highs and lows of Grand Prix racing.
"It is important to have someone who accompanies you in both difficult and happy moments, and who keeps you focused," Bastianini emphasized when discussing his psychological support system. He firmly believes that maintaining mental clarity is non-negotiable for anyone striving to stay at the absolute pinnacle of motorsport.
Looking ahead to an upcoming era featuring major technical overhauls, including 850cc engines and new Pirelli tires, Bastianini refuses to get ahead of himself. Armed with hard-earned lessons from his past battles, he aims to approach his new challenge with Trackhouse Aprilia with a grounded and focused mindset.
