The WorldSSP race weekend at Autodromo do Estoril delivered a crucial performance milestone for Dominique Aegerter as he showcased a highly competitive pace aboard his Kawasaki ZX-6R 636. The Swiss rider arrived in Portugal with notably higher confidence following significant technical progress made by his crew in understanding the machine's overall setup.
Earlier in the season, his teammate Jeremy Alcoba had already demonstrated the bike's true potential by securing two stellar victories in Cremona, followed by a third-place finish and another win in Estoril. Meanwhile, Aegerter's weekend featured a Saturday crash while running in eighth place, but he successfully bounced back with a resilient performance during Sunday's main race.
Sunday's second encounter proved exceptionally dramatic after a red flag on lap 10 triggered a six-lap sprint restart. This chaotic scenario forced Aegerter to launch his charge from 14th on the grid before briefly dropping two spots, yet he immediately pushed to the absolute limit and successfully salvaged an eighth-place finish at the checkered flag.

This hard-fought top-ten result was further underscored by the remarkable fact that Aegerter clocked the third-fastest lap time of Sunday's race. Such stellar pace highlights his strong adaptation to the Kawasaki package, though he openly admitted that these performance gains arrived somewhat late in the championship campaign.
Looking ahead to the 2026 WorldSSP season finale scheduled at the Circuit of Jerez next weekend, Aegerter is fully motivated to deliver one final standout performance in green. He expressed deep gratitude to his entire crew for their unwavering support and promised to leave nothing on the table during his last weekend with the team.
