António Félix da Costa has admitted that his current Formula E campaign has been difficult to manage due to a high frequency of on-track incidents. Despite a seamless transition from Porsche to Jaguar Racing, his ability to convert raw pace into consistent race results has been severely hampered by a series of collisions beyond his control.

From a performance perspective, pure speed has not been a limiting factor for the Season 6 champion. Da Costa has maintained one of the most impressive qualifying records of the season, appearing in eight duels within the opening ten rounds. Statistically, he has yet to start a race outside of the top 10, indicating that his technical synergy with the Jaguar chassis and his one-lap execution are at an elite level.

However, this qualifying dominance has stood in stark contrast to his race-day outcomes. Data shows that Da Costa has been involved in collisions in six of the ten completed races this season. This streak began with a hit from Pepe Martí in the São Paulo season-opener, followed by a multi-car collision in Mexico City, and a spin caused by Felipe Drugovich in Miami.

The trend of instability continued in Berlin, where contact with Nico Müller resulted in a puncture, and in Monaco, where he suffered a major crash following an incident with Dan Ticktum. In the subsequent Monaco race, he was again spun by Edoardo Mortara. Such a high rate of attrition has significantly eroded his points tally, preventing him from challenging for a leading position in the drivers' championship.

Despite these setbacks, Da Costa demonstrated remarkable resilience and race pace during the most recent event. After being spun on the opening lap at the Nouvelle Chicane during the second race in Monaco, he executed an aggressive recovery drive to secure a podium finish. This result highlights that his technical capability and tire management remain competitive even when forced to fight from the back of the grid.

Da Costa's integration into the Jaguar squad has been highly effective, and he is now positioned as a pivotal figure to lead the team into the Gen4 era. His ability to consistently extract maximum performance from the vehicle during qualifying proves the potential of the current package, though the lack of race finishes remains the primary bottleneck for the team's overall success.

In his assessment of the season, Da Costa stated that these challenges are serving as a means to build character. He acknowledged the emotional volatility of experiencing extreme highs in qualifying followed by disappointing lows in the races. His recovery in Monaco served as a definitive statement that the team and driver refuse to concede despite the adverse circumstances.

Ultimately, the primary objective for Da Costa moving forward is to translate his qualifying superiority into consistent race points. With the raw pace already established, the focus must now shift toward mitigating external variables on the track to ensure that his performance is accurately reflected in the championship standings.
