Conor Daly Secures Full-Time IndyCar Return with DRR for 2027

Conor Daly has finally secured his first long-term contract in the NTT IndyCar Series. The American driver will race full-time for Dreyer and Reinbold Racing (DRR) starting in 2027.

This multi-year deal marks a turning point in Daly's career after losing his full-time seat at the end of 2025. Last season, he only competed in the Indianapolis 500 with DRR, a team he had worked with several times before.

DRR's Return to Full-Time Competition

DRR is preparing for one of the biggest changes in its long history. Team founder Dennis Reinbold, who passed away this year, had set plans in motion to expand the team into a full-time competitor by purchasing a charter from Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.

That decision allows DRR to compete in every round starting with the season opener in St. Petersburg next March. The team last raced full-time in 2013.

Daly: Multi-Year Deal Is a Dream

Daly expressed his excitement about the opportunity, noting that DRR already performs at the highest level, especially at the Indianapolis 500. He also welcomed the switch to Honda after years with Chevrolet.

“I'm super pumped. This is a huge deal for me. To have a multi-year deal is something I'm extremely grateful for. First time in my life,” Daly said.

The move to Honda presents a new challenge for DRR, which has consistently used Chevy engines since 2012. However, Daly's vast experience is expected to help the team adapt quickly.
