Nicolo Bulega once again underlined his dominance in the 2026 WorldSBK season after securing pole position for Race 1 at Autodrom Most with a sensational new lap record.

The Aruba.it Racing Ducati rider posted a stunning 1m29.616s during Saturday morning’s Tissot Superpole session, smashing the previous lap record by more than four tenths of a second.

Yari Montella finished second, 0.280s behind, while Iker Lecuona completed an all-Ducati front row.

From the very beginning of the session, Bulega immediately showed exceptional pace and consistency. After Alex Lowes crashed at Turn 1 and briefly triggered yellow flags, the Italian rider quickly moved to the top of the timesheets.

Lecuona briefly took provisional pole with a 1m30.163s lap before Montella looked set to spring a surprise with a 1m30.051s effort during the closing minutes.

However, Bulega immediately responded with a phenomenal 1m29.616s lap which secured pole position and further highlighted the Ducati Panigale V4 R’s superiority around the technical Czech circuit.

From a technical standpoint, Ducati once again demonstrated exceptional braking stability and traction performance out of slow corners, two crucial areas around the stop-and-go layout of Most.

The pole marks Bulega’s fifth pole position in five WorldSBK rounds this season and his sixth consecutive pole dating back to Jerez 2025.

Sam Lowes placed the Marc VDS Ducati fourth, while Alberto Surra secured the best Superpole result of his WorldSBK career with fifth place for Motocorsa Racing.

Garrett Gerloff completed the second row aboard his Kawasaki ZX-10RR.

Meanwhile, Michael van der Mark initially qualified 12th for the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team before receiving a grid penalty for improving his best sector under yellow flags during FP3.

As a result, the Dutch rider will start Race 1 from 20th on the grid.

With Ducati once again dominating one-lap pace and maintaining strong race rhythm throughout the weekend, Bulega continues to strengthen his status as the leading favourite for the 2026 WorldSBK title.
