Magny-Cours witnessed the long-anticipated farewell. Nicolo Bulega and Aruba.it Racing – Ducati have officially ended their partnership after the 2026 WorldSBK season. The Italian factory team made the announcement on Wednesday, closing a five-year collaboration filled with milestones.
Bulega joined Aruba in 2022 in the WorldSSP class, quickly proving his pedigree by clinching the world title a year later. That success propelled him into WorldSBK in 2024, where he became one of the class's defining riders, finishing runner-up in the championship for two consecutive seasons.
The 2026 campaign has been nothing short of dominant. According to team data, Bulega has secured 26 wins and one second-place finish from the first 27 races. Now, with rounds remaining, the mission is clear: capture the WorldSBK crown before the roads diverge.
Team Principal Stefano Cecconi expressed deep appreciation for the partnership. “When we chose Nicolo, we knew we were investing in a young rider with immense talent, but the journey we've shared has exceeded our expectations,” he said. Cecconi added that Bulega became part of the team's sporting family. “He earned everyone's trust and affection through professionalism and respect. We will always be grateful and cheer for him.”
Bulega's departure paves the way for his return to MotoGP with the Pertamina Enduro VR46 team next season, with an official announcement seemingly imminent. Meanwhile, Franco Morbidelli is tipped to make the reverse switch to WorldSBK, adding more intrigue to the 2027 rider market.
Before all that, Bulega and Aruba remain focused on unfinished business: winning the world title. With the points advantage they've built, the opportunity is wide open. The remaining races will serve as a final stage for a duo that has given WorldSBK fans countless memories.
