Brundle Reveals What Horner Told Him About Ferrari Rumours

Martin Brundle has finally addressed the rumours linking Christian Horner to the Ferrari team principal role. Speaking on Sky Sports F1 in Bahrain, Brundle revealed he called Horner to get the story straight.

"I rang him and he said, 'I was being polite and respectful about Ferrari in an interview and it took on a whole load,'" Brundle quoted Horner. The former driver also highlighted the intriguing dynamic if Horner were to join Ferrari, given his history with Lewis Hamilton since 2021.

Horner, who was sacked from Red Bull after last year's British Grand Prix, is reportedly seeking a return to F1 after 15 months away. However, Brundle believes changing leaders is not an instant fix. "There's no point to keep changing key personnel, you see it in football," he said.

Meanwhile, Fred Vasseur has called for unity at Ferrari. Speaking on Friday in Malaysia, he warned that pointing fingers would be a huge mistake. "In the good moments, we are winning as a team. In the bad moments, we are suffering as a team," Vasseur said.

Vasseur also noted a positive start to the season despite a recent dip in form. He hopes development will bring Ferrari back to competitiveness. "We want to win more and challenge for the championship. We are struggling, but we hope to bounce back soon," he added.

The rumour mill has been in overdrive amid pressure on Vasseur. Brundle described the Ferrari team principal job as both the best and worst in F1. "The pressure is immense, and the line between hero and zero is sometimes vertical," he said.

Ferrari has yet to make an official statement on Vasseur's future. For now, the speculation will continue to dominate paddock talk until clarity emerges.
