Formula 1 pundit Martin Brundle has highlighted a tough driver dilemma facing Racing Bulls as they evaluate their lineup for the 2027 Formula 1 season. The Faenza-based squad is currently weighing up a major headache regarding their future seat allocations amidst strong performances from their current roster.
Decision-makers must choose whether to keep their current pairing of Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad or promote Red Bull junior Nikola Tsolov, who is actively contending for the Formula 2 crown. Speaking on the situation, Brundle noted that replacing either current driver presents a major challenge for the team management.
Lawson has spearheaded the midfield contest with 75 points this year, while British rookie Lindblad has added 38 points to place Racing Bulls fifth in the Constructors’ Championship. Lawson notably strengthened his position with a standout performance in Singapore, finishing fifth in the Sprint and taking seventh in the Grand Prix.

Reflecting on that drive, Sky F1 commentator David Croft stated that Lawson delivered another great points haul for a Racing Bulls team continuing their strong tradition at the venue. Meanwhile, Racing Bulls team principal Alan Permane confirmed that driver selections for 2027 will happen in the coming weeks, emphasizing their unique responsibility as Red Bull’s junior squad to foster future talent.
Addressing that balance, Brundle issued a clear warning about disrupting a well-performing lineup, especially given Lawson's recent momentum across demanding race weekends heading into the Americas triple-header.
