The 2026 British Grand Prix is forecast to take place in warm and predominantly dry conditions when the ninth round of the Formula 1 season is held at Silverstone Circuit this weekend.
According to the forecast reported by RacingNews365, Friday’s free practice and Sprint Qualifying sessions will be held under partly cloudy skies with a maximum temperature of approximately 26 degrees Celsius. The probability of rain is only two percent, while a gentle westerly wind is expected to reach 13 km/h.
The stable conditions should allow teams to complete their tyre and set-up evaluation programmes without significant weather disruption. However, the relatively high temperature could still influence track conditions, tyre degradation and the cooling requirements of the cars throughout Friday’s running.

Saturday is expected to be the warmest day of the weekend, with temperatures reaching 27 degrees Celsius for the Sprint and grand prix qualifying. The rain probability remains at two percent, although the west-northwesterly wind is forecast to strengthen to 23 km/h.
That wind could become an important technical factor through Silverstone’s high-speed corner sequences. Changes in wind direction and intensity may affect aerodynamic stability, car balance on corner entry and driver confidence during qualifying laps.
Race day on Sunday is also expected to remain dry, with a seven percent chance of precipitation. Temperatures should remain around 26 degrees Celsius, while the south-westerly wind is forecast to ease to 11 km/h. Slightly thicker cloud cover is expected for the 52-lap grand prix.
George Russell arrives at Silverstone after winning the Austrian Grand Prix for Mercedes. With the weather unlikely to create major disruption, the British GP should be shaped primarily by aerodynamic efficiency, tyre management and each team’s ability to optimise its set-up for Silverstone’s high-speed layout.
