Gabriel Bortoleto has made it clear his future lies with Audi, dismissing speculation linking him with an exit as Carlos Sainz emerged as a potential target for the German manufacturer. The Brazilian insists his contract runs long-term, beyond the 2026 season.
Bortoleto, who joined Sauber in 2025 before the team transitioned to Audi, revealed he has no clauses that could trigger an early departure. Speaking to Motorsport.com's Brazilian edition, he said his deal aligns with the long-term project led by team principal Mattia Binotto, which extends to 2030.
“As far as I can say, because it's something that's confidential, but let's say there are no clauses,” Bortoleto stated. “I have a long-term contract with Audi. I'll be with Audi next year, and not only next year, but the following years as well.”

The 21-year-old has been a key performer for Audi in their first full works season, scoring 10 of the team's 12 points through the opening 11 rounds. He sits 14th in the drivers' standings and views 2026 as the first step in a longer development process for the new car and engine.
“It's a project I believed in when I joined, and they believe in my potential. I'm very excited,” Bortoleto added. “This year was the first step in building a new car and a new engine. Next year will be another step in putting things into practice.”
On teammate Nico Hulkenberg's future, Bortoleto voiced strong support. “I can say that my spot is filled. I won't comment on other people's contracts, but I really enjoy working with Nico. He's fast, experienced, and brings many positive things to the team,” he said.
Sainz's links to Audi are not new, as the manufacturer previously pursued him before he chose Williams for 2025. However, Spanish media reports this week suggest Sainz is now likely to stay with Williams after Audi repeatedly closed the door. Formula 1 returns from its summer break with the Dutch Grand Prix this weekend.
