Marco Bezzecchi topped the second free practice session for the MotoGP Japanese Grand Prix at Mobility Resort Motegi on Saturday morning. The Aprilia rider set the fastest time, leading a 1-2 for the Noale manufacturer alongside Jorge Martin. Pedro Acosta and Marc Marquez finished third and fourth respectively.
The session was highly competitive from the start. Bezzecchi, known for his aggressive riding style, immediately set a strong pace, unaffected by the warming track conditions. Martin, also on an Aprilia, kept close and ensured Aprilia's dominance. Acosta on the KTM and Marquez on the Ducati could not break into the top two, though both showed competitive speed.
In Moto3, David Almansa was the fastest. The Spanish rider set a time of 1'54.745 on his fourth lap, which also stood as a new lap record. Maximo Quiles had to settle for second, just 0.032 seconds behind, followed by Alvaro Carpe in third. The Moto3 session was not without incidents, with Joel Kelso and Hakim Danish crashing.

In Moto2, Izan Guevara impressed with a time of 1'46.950, the only rider to dip below the 1'47 barrier. However, he also crashed at Turn 10 after setting his fastest lap. Filip Salac and Manuel Gonzalez completed the top three. Meanwhile, Indonesian rider Zonta van den Goorbergh finished sixteenth, while Belgium's Barry Baltus was eighth.
The FP2 results provide an intriguing preview ahead of qualifying. Aprilia showed promising performance, but rivals like Acosta and Marquez are sure to fight back. In Moto2 and Moto3, competition is heating up with new names challenging the favorites. Don't miss the qualifying session that will determine the starting grid for Sunday's races.
With this result, Bezzecchi and Martin proved that Aprilia is ready to compete at Motegi. However, qualifying will be the real test. Will Aprilia dominate again, or will Acosta and Marquez bounce back? We'll find out soon.
