Marco Bezzecchi etched his name into the MotoGP history books by becoming the first rider to lap Aragon in under 1:45.000s, securing pole position for the Aragon Grand Prix with a stunning 1:44.962s. It was his third pole of the season and a statement of intent.
The qualifying session was a fierce duel between Marco Bezzecchi and Marc Marquez. Marquez struck first, breaking the lap record on his initial run, but Bezzecchi responded immediately. The pair traded blows, with Bezzecchi ultimately breaking the record once more to seal the top spot.
Marquez's final two laps were compromised by a couple of mistakes, and his last attempt was ruined when he was blocked by Franco Morbidelli. That handed the initiative to Bezzecchi, with Marquez settling for second. Alex Marquez joined them on the front row in third.
Raul Fernandez headed the second row in fourth, ahead of Jorge Martin and Pedro Acosta, who suffered a late crash. Fabio Di Giannantonio took seventh, with Francesco Bagnaia eighth after progressing from Q1. Johann Zarco impressed in ninth on his return from a three-month injury layoff, while Diogo Moreira completed the top ten after also coming through Q1.
Fermin Aldeguer was 11th, with Morbidelli 12th after his controversial end to qualifying. Jack Miller led the fifth row in 13th, joined by Brad Binder and Joan Mir. Enea Bastianini could only manage 16th, while Fabio Quartararo's final lap put him 17th ahead of Luca Marini. Alex Rins took 19th, with Pol Espargaro standing in for the injured Maverick Vinales in 20th. Toprak Razgatlioglu and Lorenzo Savadori rounded out the grid.
