Bezzecchi Beats Marquez in Final Practice at Aragon MotoGP 2026

Marco Bezzecchi once again proved his pace at the Aragon circuit by outpacing Marc Marquez in the final free practice session (FP2) ahead of qualifying for the 2026 Aragon MotoGP. The Aprilia rider set the fastest lap of 1:46.216s, edging out Marquez who had briefly topped the timesheets late in the session.

Marquez, who lost an Aragon session for the first time since 2022 on Friday, had to concede again on Saturday morning. Despite jumping from ninth to first in the closing stages, he couldn't hold on, using a fresh medium rear tyre while most others, including Bezzecchi, opted for the soft rear. Bezzecchi responded with a lap 0.232s quicker.

Behind the leading duo, Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse Aprilia) took third, followed by Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM) and Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo) completing the top five. Title leader Jorge Martin could only manage 12th, 0.926s adrift.

The session also highlighted Johann Zarco's impressive form on the Honda LCR. After a stunning Friday where he was the top Honda and secured direct Q2 access, Zarco briefly led the timesheets before dropping to 13th. His strong pace offers hope for Honda's ongoing fight.

With this result, Bezzecchi heads into qualifying with confidence, while Marquez will look to strike back. Bagnaia, who struggled, must go through Q1 after finishing outside the top ten on Friday. The battle at the front is set to be intense.
