According to Motorsport Week, Arrow McLaren has officially announced a multi-year contract extension of its pivotal partnership with Chevrolet to serve as its exclusive engine supplier in the NTT IndyCar Series. This major agreement ensures that the Woking-based squad will continue to harness American horsepower well into the future.
McLaren Racing's journey into American open-wheel motorsport began when they initially partnered with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports back in 2020. Since those foundational years, the organization has taken complete operational control of the program while utilizing Chevrolet engines throughout their campaign in the highly competitive championship.
A steadfast partnership between these two prominent entities will prove to be mutually beneficial as the upcoming IR-28 chassis and next-generation engine package undergo rigorous testing ahead of their scheduled introduction for the 2028 IndyCar season. Close technical collaboration remains an absolute priority for both engineering departments.

"Arrow McLaren has been an important part of Chevrolet’s IndyCar program, and this extension reflects the strength of the technical relationship we’ve built together," stated Eric Warren, Vice President of Global Motorsports Competition at General Motors. He further emphasized that as the series progresses toward next-generation car development, close alignment between engineers will be critical to raising the performance bar.
Working together in the paddock, Arrow McLaren and Chevrolet have accumulated an impressive tally of 14 race wins, 54 podium finishes, and 13 pole positions. However, conquering the legendary Indianapolis 500 remains the ultimate, elusive target for both organizations moving forward.
While Arrow McLaren has secured three Indy 500 podiums with standout driver Pato O'Ward behind the wheel, capturing an elusive victory in America's greatest race continues to drive their efforts. To bolster their championship and Indianapolis aspirations, O'Ward will be joined next season by seasoned veterans Scott Dixon and Felix Rosenqvist.
