Lewis Bates and Anthony McLoughlin head into the fifth round of the Australian Rally Championship (ARC) at Adelaide Hills with a slender lead at the top of the standings. The Toyota Gazoo Racing duo recently claimed victory in Tasmania, but they can't afford to relax as Scott Pedder and Glenn Macneall are just 12 points behind after finishing second.
The Adelaide Hills Rally, based in Mount Barker and surrounding areas, will be the final sprint event of the season. A total of 22 special stages covering 170km will be held over three days, with the highlight being the super special stage on Friday night. Featuring a Race of Champions-style format under lights, the stage will run twice at the Southern District Car Club and Mid Murray Motorplex, offering a unique experience for crews and spectators.

Before competition begins, Thursday night will feature the Rally Show and Street Party in Mount Barker, where fans can get up close to the crews and their cars. It's a rare opportunity to interact with Australia's rally stars.

For Harry Bates and Coral Taylor, the previous round in Tasmania was a nightmare. They crashed on Saturday night, losing valuable points. Now they have dropped to third in the standings, 58 points adrift of the lead. With only this round and one more remaining, consistency is crucial if they want to keep their title hopes alive.
Adelaide Hills is the last sprint, and 50 points are on offer for each Heat win, plus two sets of additional Power Stage bonus points. Every second counts. The Bates brothers – Lewis and Harry – must maximise every stage, while Pedder is ready to pounce on any mistake.
Broadcast will be split between free and paid live streaming. The ARC will stream on their YouTube and Facebook channels, plus Speedcafe's Facebook page. Meanwhile, Kayo Sports will air select stages. The broadcast schedule includes the Super Special Stage on Friday, then Bugle Rangers 1, Kuitpo 1 and 2 on Saturday, and Callington Back 1 on Sunday.
With tension mounting, the Adelaide Hills Rally is not just about speed, but also strategy and endurance. Who will come out on top and move closer to the championship? We'll soon find out.
